This is Rovaniemi's go-to second-hand store, a big, cheerfully cluttered warehouse of a place out on Varastotie where locals hunt for bargains. Trading these days as Vintikki, it is exactly the kind of Finnish kirpputori (flea market and thrift shop) where patient rummaging turns up everything from winter woollies to retro homeware for a handful of euros.
The stock is a vast, ever-changing jumble — clothing, kitchenware, books, toys, furniture, sports gear and the odd genuine vintage find — sold cheaply and sorted just enough to make browsing fun. For a traveller it is a brilliant, low-cost way to pick up anything from an extra jumper for the Arctic cold to a quirky souvenir.
Local tip: Go with time to dig — the treasures are in the piles — and check for a fill-a-bag deal. It is a practical stop if the Lapland weather catches you underdressed.
