The building is a beautifully restored former home for unmarried Army officers, with a fireplace-lined lobby, evening wine and cheese, and trails and eucalyptus groves right outside. You will want a car or rideshares to reach the wider city, but it is unbeatable for walking to Presidio overlooks and the Golden Gate Bridge.
