Hotel Magnolia is generally credited as Santiago's first proper design hotel, a restored early-twentieth-century mansion turned into six floors of boutique rooms a few minutes' walk from Plaza de Armas and Cerro Santa Lucía. The rooftop bar looks straight over Parque Santa Lucía.
Breakfast draws its own fans — good coffee, pastries and a generous plate of smashed avocado alongside the usual spread.
Local tip: Ask for a room away from the street-facing side if you're sensitive to noise; the historic centre stays lively at night.
