Los Tres Ojos National Park

★ 4.6

Los Tres Ojos is a series of limestone caves holding freshwater lagoons – the 'three eyes' of the name – a short trip east of the Zona Colonial in Parque Mirador del Este. A manually operated raft carries visitors across one lagoon to reach a fourth, open-air lake called La Nevera.

It is outside the historic centre, so budget time and transport to get there and back if you are basing yourself in the Zona Colonial.

Local tip: Wear shoes with grip – the cave paths get slick near the water.
