This park has gorgeous views of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountain range. It's a favorite spot for locals and it can get pretty crowded on sunny summer weekends, but on weeknights (especially in winter), it's virtually empty and you can have most of the beach to yourself.

There are bonfire pits at the southern end of the beach which provide a great, relaxing way to spend an evening. Be sure to get there well before sunset to secure one! If you're up for something more active, kayak rentals are available through Ballard Kayak from May to September. Their kiosk is just south of the bathhouse on the beach.
Keep an eye out for wildlife! There are turtles, ducks, and even bald eagles that like to hang out in the wetlands at the northern end of the park.
