A hillside kampung opposite the Kalisari flower market, painted in bright colours in 2017 and still very much a lived-in neighbourhood.
The murals have faded and the paint is peeling in places, so expect a real community with a story about life after a viral moment rather than a photo set.
Local tip: Access is free with a voluntary donation box. Ask before photographing residents or into homes, and keep the narrow alleys clear.
