The Bridge of Lies is one of Sibiu’s most beloved landmarks, a small and elegant cast-iron footbridge, the oldest of its kind in Romania, linking the Small Square to the lower town. According to local legend, the bridge will creak or collapse if anyone standing on it tells a lie, giving it its charming name and drawing curious visitors and couples. Pretty and steeped in folklore, with lovely views over the surrounding old streets and rooftops, it is a delightful and quintessentially Sibiu spot and a favourite for a photograph.
