All Christmas stories state that Santa Claus is in Korvatunturi (Ear Mountain), in Lapland. Mountain is an outstandingly beautiful mountain, with a distinctive triple rocky hill tops. The mountain is located in the easternmost corner of the UKK Park area. Mountains high definition hill tops resembles ears and is probably the name's inspiration.
Korvatunturi is located on the border between Finland and Russia, in the border zone, so it cannot be accessed without a zone permit. You can also take the Kemihaara-Korvatunturinuruu hiking trail to the nearby Korvatunturinurusta moraine to admire the Korvatunturi.
However, during the winter, local entrepreneurs organize excursions from Kemihaara. The closest parking area is in Kemihaara, Savukoski.
