A monumental congress and cultural centre from the socialist era, anchoring a large plaza with fountains at the end of Vitosha Boulevard. One of the largest such venues in south-eastern Europe, it hosts concerts, festivals and exhibitions, and the surrounding park and gardens are a popular gathering place. The building and its plaza are a striking example of late-communist architecture.
