Why locals love it
Bio Rio is one of Stockholm's few remaining cinemas from the 1940s. Kitted out like a living room, “Salong 4” is especially popular with its beanbags, sofas and full bar service, as is the Sunday “Filmfrukost” (Film Breakfast) where patrons can enjoy a mid-morning meal in front of the big screen.
Why you should visit it
Besides catching top-quality films, you can also be transported to the Metropolitan Opera, the National Theatre in London or a live concert care of their “Live på Bio” (Live at the Cinema) initiative.
Special tip
Every Tuesday they host "Babybio" for parents with little ones. The room is brighter, the volume is lower and there's a coffee break during the film.
