This day trip pairs the volcanic landscapes of Yangmingshan National Park with the steaming hot-spring town of Beitou, both just outside the city. It is an easy escape into nature, fumaroles and soothing thermal waters.
Expect sulphur vents and hillside scenery up top, then a relaxed wander through Beitou's hot-spring quarter and its old museum.
