Telegrafbukta or just ‘bukta’ (pronounced Booktá) is a beautiful bay that has crept into the hearts of all Tromsø locals. Usually the locals use this area for daily walks, but on the (few) warm days of summer the bay will be filled with half-naked Norwegians; all trying to absorb as many sun rays as they can.

The bay stretches along the southern tip of the island and has a good view to the surrounding mountains and a rich bird life. You can use the space to have a bbq with friends or perhaps just take a walk along the bay. If you feel like letting your inner viking break free, the bay is perfect for an arctic swim!
In late July, there's a 3-day rock festival taking place in Bukta. The festival is always looking for volunteers to help out during the event.
