The original Eataly, opened in 2007 in a converted vermouth factory beside the landmark Lingotto complex, the former Fiat plant famous for its rooftop test track. The vast food hall gathers Italian produce, regional specialities, wine and several sit-down eateries under one roof, with a strong focus on small producers. It is part market, part food court and part shrine to Piedmontese cooking, worth the short trip south of the centre.
