Nuuksio's spruce forest, small lakes and granite ridges make up the closest true wilderness to the capital, and it is reached without needing a car.
About five hours including a guided walk on forest trails, with commuter train and local bus transport from central Helsinki in each direction.
Local tip: Meet at Railway Square by the Aleksis Kivi statue. Wear proper walking shoes, as the trails can be wet.
