Flea market Kettenbruckengasse

The Kettenbruckengasse flea market is a weekly antiques and second-hand fair held along Linke Wienzeile at the western end of the Naschmarkt, Vienna's largest permanent produce market. It was originally sited at Am Hof in the city centre and moved to its present position beside the Naschmarkt in 1977, trading every Saturday since from around 6.30am into the early afternoon. Roughly 400 stalls set up each week, run by a mix of private sellers and licensed dealers; traders without a business licence are limited to three appearances a year, which keeps the stock turning over rather than settling into a fixed dealer market. Goods range from furniture, porcelain, paintings and jewellery to boxes of vinyl, second-hand clothing, comics and household bric-a-brac, with occasional higher-value antiques among them. The nearest station is Kettenbruckengasse on U-Bahn line U4, with Pilgramgasse one stop further along the same line; Karlsplatz, on lines U1, U2 and U4, sits at the Naschmarkt's opposite end.
