Singing and Dancing Fountains Show

The Singing and Dancing Fountains occupy a trapezoid pool on Republic Square in central Yerevan, in front of the History Museum of Armenia and the National Gallery. The musical fountain system was rebuilt in 2007 by the French company Aquatique Show International at a cost of around 1.4 million euros, replacing an earlier installation that had fallen out of use. Jets are choreographed and lit in sequence with recorded music running from classical pieces to 1960s and 1970s rock and contemporary songs, and performances traditionally close with a composition by Charles Aznavour. The show is seasonal, running from late May to September on evenings other than Monday, between 20:00 and 22:00. Watching is free and the square is open at all hours. Republic Square metro station sits directly beneath it. Outside the season the fountains do not perform, so anyone travelling specifically for the display should check the dates.
