Why locals love it
This city has several fun and unique traditions, and firing the Gric cannon (Gricki top in Croatian) each day precisely at noon is one of them. It might not make much sense, but we've managed to keep it alive for more than a century which is reason enough to love it.
Why you should visit it
The Gric cannon is placed in an old tower called Lotrscak in what was once the medieval part of the city. It strikes each day at noon. Even if you're not there to see the fun employee who waves at the crowd after he has finished his task for the day, you could hear a sudden bang somewhere in the city, so it's good to know where it comes from.
Special tip
It's fun to stand there below the cannon when it fires, but know that it's very very loud. You've been warned.
