Castell de Bellver is a striking fourteenth-century fortress on a wooded hill overlooking Palma and its bay, unusual for its circular design with a central courtyard. Built for the kings of Mallorca and later used as a prison, it now houses the citys history museum. Ticketed admission allows visitors to explore the ramparts, courtyard and museum displays, and the hilltop offers some of the finest panoramic views over Palma and the sea.
