Sighișoara is the only inhabited medieval citadel in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site, with pastel guild houses and Vlad Dracul's birthplace.
A two-hour guided walk through the citadel taking in the 64-metre Clock Tower, the covered stairway and the Church on the Hill. Runs year round.
Local tip: Sighișoara sits about 55 km from Târgu Mureș, under an hour by car. The cobbles are steep, so wear sturdy shoes.
