Life According to Kawa occupies a converted garage on Hvarska, just outside the Ploče Gate a couple of minutes east of Dubrovnik’s walled old town and overlooking the old harbour. It stocks design, clothing, jewellery, ceramics and homewares from small Croatian makers, alongside olive oil, condiments, Croatian wines and craft beers, and deliberately avoids the mass-produced souvenirs sold inside the walls. Its own printed T-shirts are a signature line. A second strand, 8th Kontinent Trading Co., carries Asian and Latin American groceries that are otherwise difficult to find in Dalmatia. A counter serves Zagreb-roasted Cogito coffee, and a seating area with harbour views doubles informally as a workspace for longer-staying visitors.
