Vegas Roots Community Garden

A non-profit urban farm on Tonopah Drive in the Historic Westside, founded in 2010 and run by the organisation Together We Can. It occupies several acres of raised beds, fruit trees and shade structures in a part of the city classified as a food desert, and supplies produce to the surrounding neighbourhood as well as to restaurants. The garden lets plots to local growers, runs education sessions for schools and workshops on growing food in desert conditions, and accepts volunteers on scheduled days. Produce is sold on site at certain times and at markets. Visitors are welcome during opening hours, though contacting ahead is sensible since hours depend on staffing. It is a short drive north-west of downtown, on a residential street with little else nearby.
