Kaimana Beach Hotel

Kaimana Beach Hotel

At the Diamond Head end of Kalakaua Avenue, past the last of the Waikiki towers, this small hotel faces Sans Souci, commonly called Kaimana, a narrow sheltered beach used more by residents than visitors. Kapiolani Park, the Waikiki Aquarium and the derelict Natatorium war memorial are all within a few minutes on foot, and the coastal path towards Diamond Head begins nearby. The building is modest by Waikiki standards, with a mix of park-view and ocean-view rooms and a beachfront restaurant beneath a hau arbour that has long drawn a local lunchtime crowd. The trade-off is distance: the main Waikiki shopping strip is a twenty-minute walk or a short bus ride west. Swimming is generally calm, and the reef makes for easy snorkelling close in.
