Polynesian Cultural Center

The Polynesian Cultural Center occupies 42 acres at Laie on Oahu's windward coast, about an hour's drive from Waikiki. It is arranged as six island villages, representing Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Aotearoa and Tahiti, where hosts from each culture demonstrate crafts, games, music and dance. Admission covers the villages, canoe rides along the central waterway, the film Hawaiian Journey and a tram tour taking in the Brigham Young University-Hawaii campus and the Laie Temple visitors' centre. This ticket adds a buffet dinner at the Gateway restaurant and reserved seating for the evening production HA: Breath of Life, a staged narrative accompanied by fire-knife dancing. Gates open in the early afternoon and the show closes the day. A complimentary three-day return to the villages is included.
