A twelve-and-a-half-hour excursion from Oahu to Hawaii Island, combining interisland flights with a guided coach tour. Passengers are collected from Waikiki hotels in the early morning, fly from Honolulu to Hilo, and spend around seven hours on the ground. The itinerary centres on Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where stops typically include the Kilauea caldera overlooks, a lava tube and areas of older flows, with admission included. Depending on conditions the route may also take in Rainbow Falls, a black sand beach and a macadamia or orchid farm. Round-trip airfare, park entry, bottled water and hotel transfers are covered; meals are not, although a lunch stop is made at additional cost. Returns are late in the evening.
