The SEAL Tour uses an amphibious vehicle that runs first on the streets of San Diego and then drives directly into the bay, covering both in a single circuit of about 100 minutes. The land portion passes through downtown and out along the Embarcadero, taking in the Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village and the waterfront. The vehicle then enters the water at a ramp and continues as a boat, passing naval vessels, tugs and fishing craft, the aircraft carrier USS Midway and the barque Star of India, with sea lions frequently visible on the bait barges. A guide narrates throughout. Departures are from either Seaport Village or the Embarcadero depending on the option selected. The tour operates year round in most conditions.
