Recuerda Chile is a non-profit project started in 2016 by Antonia González to keep traditional Chilean craft skills alive and pay artisans fairly for their work. Every piece — Mapuche silverwork, horsehair weaving, black clay pottery, woven baskets — is tagged with the name of the person who made it.
It sits right on Merced in Barrio Lastarria, next to Teatro Ictus, so it's an easy add to an afternoon wandering the neighbourhood's galleries and cafés.
Local tip: Prices are fixed and fair to the makers, so don't expect to haggle — that's rather the point.
