Gallo Rojo

San Julian (Casco Antiguo)

Part cultural factory, part neighborhood living room, Gallo Rojo fills a former convent-area warehouse in San Julian with jazz jams, art shows, coworking desks and craft beer from its own label, Abril. Why it matters: it is run by Tertulia, an Andalusian cooperative that programs culture horizontally and democratically, keeping most concerts free entry with a pay-what-you-can hat for the musicians. Come on a Tuesday for the Jam-Tonic session or Sunday for Hot Club Sevilla’s gypsy swing, and order the house Abril beer. Tip: shows fill up fast and entry is until capacity, so arrive before the posted start time.
