Piazza San Carlo

Centro  •  ★ 4.7  •  $

Often called Turin’s drawing room, this grand Baroque square is framed by symmetrical arcades, the twin churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo, and the equestrian statue of Emanuele Filiberto at its centre. Historic cafes shelter under the porticoes, among them the storied Caffe San Carlo and Caffe Torino. It is the elegant heart of the city and a natural meeting point, especially fine in the early-evening light.
