Ca’ Macana is one of Venice’s most respected mask workshops, crafting traditional papier-mâché Carnival masks by hand in the Dorsoduro district. Its artisans famously supplied masks for Stanley Kubrick’s film Eyes Wide Shut, and the shop offers a huge range from classic Commedia dell’Arte characters to elaborate decorative pieces. Mask-making workshops are also available, giving visitors a chance to try the centuries-old craft for themselves.
