Discover Berlin Walking Tour

This tour was an excellent way to get a first taste of Berlin and identify the main sights, attractions and history. Jonathan, our guide, was fantastic and not only was his English perfect, his knowledge of the history of the city over many centuries was extensive and fascinatingly recounted. This was no rehearsed script but a narrative from a scholar who clearly knew and loved his subject. It was also tremendous value for money.

I did the 4 walking 'discover berlin' tour on my first day in Berlin and I'm so glad I did it. Our guide was Lorna and she was fantastic. She had superb insight into the history and of course her witty humour complimented the overall experience as well. There is so much to cover in Berlin and this walking tour covers the main historical points and architectural sights (e.g. Brandenburg gate, site of Hitler's bunker, Pergamon museum, checkpoint Charlie). It's also a great way to get your bearings around the city- it was helpful as I was able to explore the city more on my own the next day. Lorna made a stop for lunch at a cute little German bakery which was perfect. A must do on your first day in Berlin and at €12 it's a bargain!

We had a great time on this really informative tour. Our Guide Beth was really great full of information and knowledge and that great skill to tell it all in a fun way while still being able to put across some or the more sombre moments in Berlins history. She left us with a load of information that we could use to decide what parts of Berlin we would like to delve into further. I would highly recommend this tour for someone who has never been to Berlin before and will be advising anyone that I know travelling to Berlin to sign up. It was a cold Thursday in Berlin and Beth kept us all rolling along and interested for the whole time. Great tour time well spent.
