Brasov’s most famous landmark, a vast Gothic church begun in the 14th century and named for the soot that blackened its walls after a great fire in 1689. Inside are a celebrated collection of Anatolian carpets and one of the largest church organs in the region, played at summer concerts. It towers over the old town and is an essential stop for any visitor.
