Status update. The Tampa cable car reopened in October 2025 after a rebuild reported at over EUR 20 million, so getting up is easy again. However the belvedere viewing platform at the summit is closed as structurally unsafe, with works due to finish around November 2026 – for now the view is through the trees.
The forested peak rising directly above the old town, crowned by a large Hollywood-style BRASOV sign and reached by a cable car or a network of hiking trails. From the summit terrace the whole medieval centre spreads out below, with the Carpathians beyond. It is the city’s favourite viewpoint and an easy escape into nature just minutes from Council Square.
