Slávica is a design shop on Laurinská in the Old Town stocking work by more than a hundred Slovak and Czech designers and makers. The range covers jewellery, clothing and footwear, bags and leather goods, ceramics and porcelain, glassware, lighting, prints, books, candles and cosmetics, generally produced in small batches rather than at industrial scale. It is a useful alternative to the folk-souvenir stalls near the main square for anyone wanting something made in the region. The interior itself won first prize for interior architecture at the Slovak CE.ZA.AR awards in 2016. The shop opens seven days a week, with shorter hours at weekends, and offers international shipping for larger purchases.
