Australia Zoo

An hour north of the city on the Sunshine Coast, Australia Zoo is the Irwin family home ground and one of the country great wildlife days out. The transfer-and-entry ticket takes the driving off your hands so you can focus on the crocodile feeding in the famous Crocoseum, the free-roaming kangaroos and the tigers, elephants and koalas across the sprawling grounds. It is a full day, so plan to arrive early. Catch the midday Crocoseum show first, then work your way around the Africa and Asia precincts before the crowds build.
