Smokehouse was Chișinău's first proper American BBQ joint — a warm, unpretentious spot founded by a couple of returned Peace Corps volunteers and a local partner to bring low-and-slow smoked meat to Moldova. For years it was the place for pulled pork, ribs and wings washed down with Moldovan craft beer, with a famous Wednesday wings night and an easygoing, community feel.

It sat on Bulevardul Ștefan cel Mare in the heart of the city. The original Smokehouse has since closed, its space taken over and folded into the Taproom by Litra beer bar, so the BBQ era there has come to an end.
