Hotel Sanders occupies a five-storey building on Tordenskjoldsgade, a quiet cobbled street directly behind the Royal Danish Theatre and a few minutes from Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorv. It was opened in 2017 by Alexander Kølpin, a former principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, and holds 52 rooms and suites ranging from compact cabin-style singles to apartments with kitchens. Interiors combine mid-century and modern Danish furniture with rattan, brass and heavy textiles. The ground floor houses Sanders Kitchen, which cooks with organic and Danish produce, and TATA, a small cocktail bar; a glazed conservatory and terrace sit on the top floor. Breakfast is cooked to order rather than laid out as a buffet.
