The dunes out at Lahbab are the deep red ones people picture when they imagine the Emirati desert, and the drive out is half the pleasure.
A 4×4 collects you from your hotel for dune bashing, then a photo stop on the high dunes, camel riding and sandboarding, with quad biking as an option.
Local tip: Wear clothes you do not mind getting sand into, and go easy on lunch beforehand, as dune bashing is kinder on an empty stomach.
