Victoria Street

Old Town  •  ★ 4.7  •  $$

Victoria Street is Edinburgh’s most photogenic shopping street, a curving, steeply sloping row of brightly coloured shopfronts in the heart of the Old Town, said to have inspired Diagon Alley. Its independent boutiques sell everything from whisky, cheese and Scottish gifts to books, jewellery and quirky curiosities, with more shops on the terrace above. Charming and full of character, it is a delight to browse and photograph and one of the most enjoyable places to shop for distinctive, locally made goods in the city.
