Opened in 2001 on Flamingo Road about a mile west of the Strip, the Palms was bought by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and reopened in 2022 as the first Las Vegas resort owned and operated by a Native American tribe. The property runs two main towers plus the Fantasy Tower, a casino, a concert theatre of around 2,500 seats and a cinema, and it retains the contemporary art collection assembled during an earlier refurbishment. Being off-Strip, it is quieter than comparable resorts and parking is straightforward, though a car or rideshare is needed to reach the boulevard. Upper-floor bars and the pool deck have long westward views towards the Spring Mountains. The clientele mixes locals, UNLV visitors and returning guests.
