Frangasqueira Nacional

Frangasqueira Nacional is a small family-run grilled chicken takeaway at Travessa Monte do Carmo 19, near Principe Real in central Lisbon. It specialises in charcoal-grilled piri-piri chicken cooked over an open flame, alongside grilled ribs, sausage and sides including potatoes fried with bacon and rice. Seating runs to two or three tables, so most orders are taken away rather than eaten in. The business closed its original premises in 2017 and reopened the same year at the current address, which is worth noting since older listings still carry the previous location. Payment is by cash only and telephoning ahead is recommended given the limited space. Hours run from 18:00 to 22:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday to Sunday, with the shop closed on Monday and Thursday.
