Popocafepetl

Popocafepetl is a small group of cafe-bars and music venues in Prague, trading since the 1990s and known for inexpensive drinks and live music. Three venues currently operate under the name: Popocafepetl Michalska, at Michalska 15 in the Old Town, run as a city pub; Popocafepetl Na Struze, at Na Struze 4 in the New Town near the National Theatre, a cafe-bar with a small stage; and Popocafepetl Italska, at Italska 18 in Vinohrady. Each combines a daytime cafe function with an evening bar and club atmosphere, hosting DJ nights, live bands and student-oriented events, reflecting a long association with Prague's independent nightlife. Drink prices are markedly lower than in the tourist-facing parts of the Old Town. Other addresses appear in older directories but are no longer part of the group. The Michalska and Na Struze branches are walkable from Narodni trida on metro line B; Italska is close to Namesti Miru on line A.
