Ljubljana’s Central Market, laid out along the river beside the Triple Bridge, is a lovely open-air and covered market designed by the architect Joze Plecnik. Its stalls and elegant riverside colonnade sell fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, honey, flowers, dried goods and crafts, with many small local producers among them. A daily hub of city life, it is a wonderful place to shop for seasonal Slovenian produce, sample local specialities and soak up the atmosphere in the heart of the old town.
