Fiera di Sinigaglia

Fiera di Sinigaglia is a flea market held every Saturday on Ripa di Porta Ticinese, along the Naviglio Grande in the Navigli district of Milan, between Via Pasquale Paoli and Via Barsanti. Its origins date to the nineteenth century, when traders in second-hand clothing and salvaged goods first gathered in the Ticinese area; the market has moved several times since before settling on its present stretch of the canal bank. Stalls sell second-hand clothing, vintage pieces, books, records, antiques, coins, postcards and general bric-a-brac. Trading runs from around 8am to 6pm, though some stallholders begin packing up before the official close. Browsing is free, prices are set individually and negotiation is normal. It operates year-round on Saturdays, subject to occasional cancellation for public holidays or civic events. The nearest station is Porta Genova on Metro Line 2, with tram Line 2 also stopping nearby; the canal paths make the area easily walked or cycled from central Milan.
