Mercato di via Fauche

The Mercato di via Fauche is a twice-weekly street market on Via Giovanni Battista Fauche in Milan, north-west of the centre in the area bordering the Chinatown around Via Paolo Sarpi. It runs on Tuesday mornings, from around 07:30 to 14:00, and on Saturdays, when trading continues into the later afternoon, with roughly 150 stalls along the street. It is known particularly for stalls selling branded and designer clothing, shoes and accessories at reduced prices, often end-of-line or surplus stock, with a separate run of fruit, vegetable and flower stalls alongside serving the immediate neighbourhood. The combination draws shoppers from across the city as well as local residents. Stock is unpredictable and the best of it goes early, so arriving near opening is the usual advice, though the first and last half-hour are taken up with setting out and packing away. The nearest metro station is Gerusalemme on Line 5.
