Dar Al Herfya (Handicrafts House) was founded in 2012 by Zuwaina Sultan Al-Rashdi to give Omani artisans, mostly women, a proper retail outlet for pottery, frankincense, palm-leaf weaving, leather goods, khanjars and silver ornaments. The organisation now works with more than 300 artisan families around the country, with this Al Mouj outlet one of several it operates in Muscat.
Local tip: Reviews are still thin on this specific outlet, but the organisation itself is well documented locally, including a recent partnership with OMRAN Group to expand into Muttrah.
