Wadi Bat is known for a striking blue-tinted pool, unlike the green-tinged water typical of most Omani wadis, tucked into dry rocky hills that hide a narrow oasis of date palms and small terraced gardens growing tomatoes, squash and gourds. It sits well outside the city on the road toward Sohar and Liwa, so it draws far fewer visitors than the wadis closer to Muscat, and the last stretch to the hot-water pools involves scrambling over rock with a rope recommended for the climb back out.
Local tip: This is a serious half-day-plus detour, not a quick stop — confirm you mean this Bat and not the archaeological site of the same name near Ibri, a completely different place.
