The Flea Market of Agnano

The Agnano flea market is a weekly antiques and vintage fair held in and around the grounds of the Ippodromo di Agnano, the Naples racecourse, every Sunday from around 7am to 2pm, weather permitting. It is organised by the association Il Mercante in Fiera and grew out of the Fiera Antiquaria Napoletana, which for decades occupied the seafront between the Villa Comunale and Via Caracciolo before moving to the racecourse. More than 200 exhibitors typically set up, selling antique furniture, jewellery, vinyl, books, toys, collectables, vintage clothing and mid-century pieces alongside general bric-a-brac. Free parking is available at the racecourse's main entrance. Horse racing at the course was suspended pending an administrative review, but non-racing events including this market have continued on their usual schedule throughout. The racecourse is in the Agnano district in the west of the city, near the Astroni crater reserve, and is reached by local bus; there is no metro station at the site. Crowds are dense and bags should be watched.
