Avenue was one of Manhattan's most exclusive nightclubs — a see-and-be-seen Chelsea hotspot on 10th Avenue where models, celebrities and the bottle-service set packed in behind a famously tough door. For years it was a byword for New York nightlife at its glossiest and most in-demand.
Avenue closed its Chelsea doors in 2020 and did not reopen at 116 10th Avenue. Its name is being revived by the same hospitality group as 'Avenue Sky Lounge', a new high-altitude cocktail lounge at Hudson Yards — a different address and a more grown-up concept than the original club.
