Ledra Street and the surrounding lanes of old Nicosia are lined with bars, cafes and pubs that fill with a young and lively crowd in the evening, from the students of the university to visitors exploring the old town. Rooftop bars offer views over the walled city and, unusually, across the divide to the northern side. The area is the liveliest part of the capital after dark and the natural place to start a night out.
