The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex stands on Merritt Island on Florida's Space Coast, about an hour east of Orlando. Admission covers the main exhibit halls, including the Space Shuttle Atlantis pavilion, where the orbiter is displayed with its payload bay open, the Shuttle Launch Experience simulator, the Rocket Garden, Gateway and the Journey to Mars exhibit, along with several large-format films. This ticket adds the Explore bus tour, which runs through restricted parts of the working spaceport past the Vehicle Assembly Building and the launch complexes to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, built around a complete Saturn V rocket. Commentary is provided by a space expert. One- and two-day options are sold. A full day is generally needed to cover the site.
